I wanted to let you know that at around 10pm last Sunday night I needed to call a prescription into a backup pharmacy we utilize in Manhattan. The pharmacy could not get the claim through, so I called your 800 number. Casey immediately called the pharmacy, resolved the issue, and called me back within 5 minutes to let me know that it had been taken care of.

We just began
servicing a new facility in Memphis
on Wednesday and first impressions
are usually lasting. We got a call
from the facility today and they
needed an injectable medication in
their facility by 5PM. We have a
private pharmacy contracted to
handle our IV services and we called
on them today for the first time.
Unfortunately they did not have the
needed medication in stock and had
no resources to help us. I called

provide me with a list of pharmacies
in the Memphis area that are in your

I have just started to use the Geri Script program but have found it to be as simple as Jim described. We mainly use Kroger and Walgreen after hours. I have had a chance to call both and had no difficulty at all. I just let them know that the procedure was different now and gave them the required information like an insurance card that they are used to processing.

As a pharmacist new to the long-term care field, I am new to the whole aspect of using a pharmacy to call for back-up medications. I was just getting comfortable using the pharmacy's current list of back up pharmacies, and then Geri Script was presented to us. Some of the pharmacists (including myself ) were a little skeptical. I used Geri Script for the first time and there have not been any problems. As far as the process is concerned, nothing changed except adding a little more information to the call.
